Visakhapatnam: Two brothers were hacked to death in Adigoppala village of Durgi mandal, Palnadu district of Andhra Pradesh, tv9 telugu reported.
The brothers identified as Kotha Hanumathu and Kotha Sriram Murthy, were murdered by a gang using deadly weapons over a previous dispute, police officials told PTI.
Revenge attack on brothers:
The two men who are said to be TDP sympathisers, clashed with a man named Y Naresh in the village and Naresh’s mother was reportedly hit by a stone during the clash. Naresh planned the attack in revenge, a senior police official told the media.
Naresh along with 10 others, attacked Hanumanthu and Sriram Murthy with a hunting knife and an iron rod, resulting in their immediate deaths. Naresh and others are absconding.
The bodies of the deceased were shifted to the government hospital for post-mortem examination. The Durgi police have registered a case and intensified the investigation. It is reported that police forces have been deployed in the village to prevent any untoward incidents.
Don't spare the culprits, no matter how influential they are: Minister Gottipati
Palnadu district in-charge and Minister Gottipati Ravikumar spoke to the district SP and ordered that the culprits should not be spared, regardless of their status. He also said that the police should take strict measures to prevent such incidents from recurring.
