Beats of happiness: Dhol rings out as Ludhiana lottery owner searches for Rs 1 crore winner
In a bid to find the winner, the shop owner and locals have resorted to playing dhols making public announcements across the area.
New Delhi: In a rather unusual turn of events, a lottery shop owner in Ludhiana, Punjab, is on the lookout for the winner of a Rs 1 crore bumper lottery prize. The winning number was publicly announced in the city, but the lucky ticket holder is yet to come forward to claim the amount.
According to the shop owner, the person who purchased the ticket had chosen to remain anonymous at the time of purchase. Efforts are now underway to trace the winner before the claim period expires. The shop owner has also warned that if the prize is not claimed within one month, the ticket will be cancelled, and no further claim will be entertained.
How a ticket of 2000 fetched a crore
The owner of Omkar Lottery Shop revealed that the winning ticket, number 7565, was sold for Rs 2,000. "The buyer did not share their name or contact details,” the owner said. "After the results were announced, we realized that the Rs1 crore prize belonged to our shop’s ticket — but no one has come forward yet.”
A rare moment of enthusiasm
In a bid to find the winner, the shop owner and locals have resorted to playing dhols making public announcements across the area. "We just want the rightful owner to claim their prize before it’s too late,” the owner added.
He further mentioned that his shop has previously sold tickets that won Rs 20 lakh and Rs 50 lakh prizes. However, this 1 crore bumper draw is the biggest win ever associated with his shop.
