New Delhi: A 67-year-old man from Bihar's Shahpur village died after a herd of 20 monkeys, attacked him on Sunday. The victim, identified as Ramnath Chaudhary was a retired clerk and was reportedly collecting fodder for his livestock, when the incident took place.
The retired clerk of the Lohat Sugar Mill was moved to a nearby hospital by locals. Upon arrival, the victim was declared dead by the doctors.
The incident led to a panic situation in the area. Subsequently, local mukhiya Ramkumar Yadav, Pandaul circle officer Purushottam Kumar and police station in charge Md Nadeem was informed about the tragic incident. The three then visited the village and requested the forest authorities to capture the monkeys.
In a similar incident, a 10-year-old boy was brutally killed by a monkey after it ripped into his stomach and tore out his intestines. According to the police, the incident took place in Salki village in Gujarat's Gandhinagar in 2023. The victim identified as Dipak Thakor was admitted to a local hospital and was declared dead on arrival by the doctors.
In 2015, a 60-year-old man Sammaiah Goud was killed after a herd of monkeys attacked him at his home in Ghanpur village in Mulug Ghanpur mandal.
