Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is all set to take oath for the tenth successive time on November 20. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to attend the event, along with several dignitaries from across the country.
Speaking to ‘The Times of India’, a Janata Dal (United) leader said that the swearing-in ceremony of the next government will be held at Gandhi Maidan. The state administration has already started preparing for the big event. He added that the Gandhi Maidan will remain closed to the public from November 17 to November 20 and there will be a complete ban on entry during this period.
As per the paper, the NDA partners are also finalising the cabinet distribution berths. Along with the BJP and JD(U). Other NDA partners - Manjhi-led HAM-S, Chirag Paswan-led LJP (RV), and Upendra Kushwaha-led RLM will also be part of the new government.
According to a BJP leader, 16 MLAs from the BJP, 14 from JD(U), 3 from LJP (RV), and 1 each from HAM-S and RLM will take oath. The last cabinet meeting of the outgoing government will be held on Monday at around 11:30 AM, the paper quoted a leader as saying further.
During the meeting, the cabinet will urge the Governor to dissolve the Assembly. The chief minister would then proceed to the Raj Bhawan and submit his resignation. He will also request the governor to dissolve the assembly and stake a claim to form the new government. Nitish Kumar will then meet newly elected JD (U) MLAs, where he will formally be chosen as the party’s new leader in the Assembly.
The results of the Bihar polls were announced on November 14. While the BJP won 89 seats, the JD(U) won 85, the RJD won 25, the LJP (RV).
