Bihar Govt formation: BJP names Samrat Choudhary as legislature party leader, Vijay Sinha as deputy leader

The NDA Government under Nitish Kumar is set to take oath to form the next government on Thursday. Kumar will oath as chief minister for the time.

Samrat Choudhary is all set to become Bihar Deputy CM once again along with Vijay Sinha.

Patna: A day before the swearing-in of the next Government in Bihar, The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday named Samrat Choudhary as the leader of its state Assembly. They also named Vijay Kumar Sinha as deputy leader.

The meeting of newly elected BJP MLAs was presided over by UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya,said. Sharing details after the meeting, Maurya said, "Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha were elected the leader and deputy leader of the BJP's legislature party, respectively." The party had earlier appointed a ntral observer.

10 MLAs proposed Choudhary and Sinha’s names

Apart from him, Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and former Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti were also present at the meeting as co-observers. As per PTI, as many as 10 MLAs proposed the names of Choudhary and Sinha as leader and deputy leader.

Speaking to reporters after being elected deputy leader, Sinha said, "I am grateful for the trust placed in me by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and other top leadership of the party. We will work hard to fulfil the PM's pledge of 'sushahshan se samridhi' (progress through good governance)".

"This is how decisions are made with love and consensus. First, people elected this government with such a massive mandate, and now MLAs have elected their leader in the assembly," said senior Ravi Shankar Prasad, who was also present in the meeting.

Nitish Kumar to take oath as CM for 10th time

The NDA Government under Nitish Kumar is set to take oath to form the next government on Thursday. Kumar will oath as chief minister for the time. In the recently concluded elections, the NDA won 202 seats in 243 Assembly seats. Among NDA, BJP won 89 seats, JD(U) 85, LJP(RV) 19, HAM 5, and RLM 4.
