Breaking News Live Updates, December 21, 2025: A Russian missile strike on port infrastructure in Odesa in southern Ukraine killed eight people and wounded 27, Ukraine's emergency service said Saturday, as a Kremlin envoy was set to travel to Florida for talks on a US-proposed plan to end the nearly four-year war. The discussions are part of the Trump administration's monthslong push for peace that also included meetings with Ukrainian and European officials in Berlin earlier this week. Ukraine's chief negotiator said late Friday that his delegation had completed separate meetings in the US with American and European partners.

Delhi Police busts racket selling fake premium mobile phones, 4 held

The Delhi Police has busted a racket involved in the illegal assembly and sale of fake premium mobile phones in the Karol Bagh area and arrested four people, an official said on Sunday. As many as 512 fake premium smartphones of a brand, including fold and flip models, along with a large quantity of mobile parts and fake IMEI stickers, were recovered during the operation, police said.

Railways announces new fare structure, to be implemented from December 26, 2025

The Railway has announced a new fare structure effective from December 26, 2025, with no fare increase for journeys under 215 km in Ordinary Class. For journeys beyond 215 km, there will be a fare hike of 1 paise per km in Ordinary Class, and 2 paise per km for Mail/Express Non-AC and AC classes. The expected revenue gain from this change is RS 600 crore, and passengers on a 500 km Non-AC journey will pay an additional Rs 10.

Wanted gangster killed in shootout in Bulandshahr, UP

Zubair alias Azad, alias Peter, a wanted criminal with a bounty of Rs 50,000 on his head, was killed in a police encounter on the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday.

SSP Dinesh Kumar Singh says, "Today, the Inspector of Kotwali Dehat, along with his police force, was conducting checks on Syana Road. They attempted to stop two men on a motorcycle. The men opened fire on the police party and tried to escape... They encountered a police force from Gulaothi coming from the opposite direction. Seeing themselves surrounded, the criminals fired several rounds at the police party. When the police fired back in self-defence, one of the criminals was shot and injured... He was taken to the hospital, where the doctor declared him dead. The deceased's name is Zubair alias Azad, alias Peter... He had more than 40 cases registered against him... He was involved in serious crimes such as robbery, theft, and gangster activities. A reward of Rs 50,000 had been announced for his capture by the Gulaothi police station. The police in Bulandshahr, Kotwali Dehat, and Gulaothi also wanted him... A .30 bore pistol, live cartridges, and spent cartridges were recovered from the scene... A search operation is underway to apprehend the other suspect who escaped."

San Francisco outages leaves 130,000 without power

A massive outage knocked out power to 130,000 homes and businesses in San Francisco on Saturday, Pacific Gas and Electric Co said. The power failure left a large swath of the northern part of the city in the dark, beginning with the Richmond and Presidio neighborhoods and areas around Golden Gate Park in the early afternoon and growing in size. PG&E did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the cause of the blackouts. The outage represents roughly one-third of the utility company's customers in the city.
