New Delhi: Renowned chef Vishnu Manohar, a culinary maestro celebrated for his string of world records, is once again preparing to push the boundaries of gastronomic endurance. This time, Manohar is setting his sights on his 31st world record by attempting to prepare a staggering 15,000 dosas in just 25 hours.
This ambitious feat is a continuation of Manohar's remarkable record-setting journey. His previous record for making dosas in 24 hours, set in Nagpur, saw him prepare an impressive 14,400 dosas. This latest endeavour aims to surpass that achievement by a significant margin.
The food extravaganza is being held on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, adding a festive dimension to the chef's extraordinary challenge. During the event, legislator Ravi Rana also lent his support, even trying his hand at making dosas alongside the record-breaking chef.
Manohar's dedication to breaking culinary records is well-documented. Earlier in 2024, he established two new world records, one for the longest duration of non-stop dosa making and another for the maximum number of dosas prepared within 24 hours. In that instance, he utilised three furnaces with three pans each, simultaneously preparing 24 dosas at a time.
Reflecting on his pace for the current challenge, Manohar anticipates making approximately 750-800 dosas per hour, projecting an average of around 10,000 dosas within a 24-hour span, with the additional hour allowing him to reach his target of 15,000.
This upcoming record attempt follows his previous large-scale preparations of dishes like khichdi, baingan bharta, and misal, showcasing his versatility and commitment to pushing culinary limits. With 30 world records already to his name, Vishnu Manohar is poised to etch another remarkable achievement in the annals of culinary history.
