New Delhi: The Delhi Police's Anti-Narcotics Task Force has seized properties worth over Rs 21.5 crore from several drug cartels in 2025. A report by the police department highlighted this achievement of the force.
The Special Anti-Narcotics cell of the Delhi Police seized properties worth approximately Rs 21.5 crore from 30 narco offenders this year. The data pertains to the seizures made till September 15. The police department is also currently carrying out investigations against 19 narco offenders. This involves illegal properties valued at over Rs 5 crore.
The Delhi Police has been acting against narco offenders for a long time now. In 2023, properties worth around Rs 38 lakh belonging to 3 narco offenders were frozen. The very next year, in 2024 properties worth Rs 5 crore belonging to 28 narco offenders were frozen. Out of the total, the ANTF Crime Branch had seized properties worth Rs 4.5 crore.
Following the crackdown by the Delhi Police several high-value drug traffickers have been financially crippled. Their assets and properties have been seized by the police. The police have seized properties worth crores, including luxury houses, commercial establishments and high-end vehicles.
The seizures and investigations have sent out a clear message to the traffickers, said the Delhi Police. Traffickers know that now drug money cannot remain hidden and that they cannot enjoy the fruits of the crime, they added.
Officials said that the police force has a zero-tolerance policy towards drug-related crimes. They said that the city police was determined to eradicate drug trafficking from its route, thus ensuring a safer and healthier society.
