New Delhi: As the rift intensifies within Lalu Prasad’s family, three of his daughters— Ragini, Rajlakshmi, and Chanda—have also left the patriarch’s residence. The three, along with their children, departed from the Patna home and headed to Delhi. This development comes a day after Lalu’s daughter Rohini Acharya announced her decision to sever all ties with her family and even leave the party. Rohini claimed she was disgraced and abused, forcing her to step away.
The escalating tension traces its roots to the recently concluded Assembly Elections in Bihar. The RJD performed significantly poorly, securing only 25 seats. When Rohini questioned the reasons behind the party’s crushing defeat, she was “disgraced, abused, and thrown out.”
According to a statement issued by Rohini, the RJD is unwilling to take responsibility for its electoral loss. Earlier, she had taken full blame upon herself. “I'm quitting politics, and I'm disowning my family... This is what Sanjay Yadav and Rameez asked me to do, and I'm taking all the blame,” Acharya said.
Several leaders have reacted to Rohini’s shocking decision to cut ties with her family following the party’s defeat. MP Dilip Jaiswal urged the family “not to break apart due to one individual,” adding that Lalu Yadav and Rabri Devi must intervene to preserve unity.
It is important to note that the feud within the Yadav family is not new. Bihar has witnessed high-voltage drama involving the family over the years. Last year, Tej Pratap’s wife Aishwarya Rai left the house amid personal conflict. Tej Pratap had openly confessed to a relationship on social media.
Unable to contain her anger, Aishwarya left her in-laws’ home and later filed for divorce. Following this, Tej Pratap was expelled from both his house and the party in 2025.
