New Delhi: India Post has taken a bold leap into the digital age and youth culture with the inauguration of its first-ever Gen Z-themed revamped Post Office at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. This initiative, spearheaded by Union Minister of Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia, aims to redefine the role of Post Offices as dynamic, engaging spaces for students and young citizens across the nation.

The transformed Campus Post Office at IIT Delhi is more than just a postal service point. It's a collaborative creation by students, for students. The revamped space boasts a modern aesthetic, complete with Wi-Fi-enabled zones designed for studying and socialising.

Smart service touchpoints, including QR-based parcel booking and special discounts on Speed Post tailored for students, are integrated to streamline postal operations and make them more accessible.

This revitalisation is part of a larger national undertaking to overhaul 46 existing Post Offices situated within educational campuses by December 15, 2025. A core tenet of this program is active student involvement. In a pioneering move, a student franchise model has been launched at IIT Delhi. This model provides students with invaluable hands-on experience in postal operations, fostering an entrepreneurial spirit and offering a unique learning opportunity. Additionally, specialised branded parcel packaging facilities have been introduced, catering specifically to the needs of students who frequently send and receive parcels.

The Director, Deans, faculty, and student bodies were all acknowledged for their instrumental role in envisioning, creating, and bringing to life this innovative postal hub.
