New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's social media post mentioning Gen-Z sparked a massive political controversy with the BJP accusing him of "instigating civil war" in the country. Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition, said in a post on X that the Gen Z will save Constitution of the country and help stop vote theft.
Gandhi's remark invited sharp reactions from the BJP which linked his post to the recent Gen Z led-protest in Nepal which forced the KP Sharma Oli led government to collapse.
"The youth of the country, the students of the country, the Gen Z of the country will save the Constitution, protect democracy, and stop vote theft. I always stand with them," Gandhi wrote on X on Thursday.
BJP's sharp attack at Rahul Gandhi over Gen-Z post
Responding to his post, BJP leader Nishikant Dubey said that the Congress leader alleged that Gandhi wants to instigate civil war in India. "He is working with the Soros Foundation to divide the nation... If Gen Z rises in India, Congress and its allies would be seen fleeing the nation," the BJP MP said.
The BJP leader further said that in Nepal and Bangladesh, the Gen Z were against corruption while in India, all the scams took during Congress regime.
Mounting his attack, Dubey said, "Rahul Gandhi wants to associate himself with what happened in Nepal and Bangladesh. At both places, the Gen Z was against nepotism and 'Parivarvaad'... Where is the 'Parivarvaad'?... It has been in the Gandhi family for decades."
He also replied to Gandhi's post on X, "Gen Z is against dynastic politics. 1. Why would they tolerate Rahul Ji after Nehru Ji, Indira Ji, Rajiv Ji, Sonia Ji?... 2. They are against corruption, why wouldn't They are chase you away? They wants to make an Islamic nation in Bangladesh and a Hindu nation in Nepal, why wouldn't the make India a Hindu nation? Get ready to leave the country, they are coming."
