Hindustan ki democracy ki haalat dekhiye: Rahul Gandhi blasts ECI over alleged voter theft
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi rejected the Election Commission of India's demand for an affidavit detailing his 'voter theft' allegations. He argued that the data belongs to the EC and challenged their actions as a distraction tactic.
New Delhi: Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Monday hit back at the Election Commission of India's demand to submit his alleged proofs of 'voter theft' under oath.
He said that there is no need for him to sign an oath to submit his alleged proofs to the ECI of the 'vote theft'. While marching with other Opposition MPs from the Congress-led INDIA bloc to Delhi's EC office, Rahul told reporters outside Parliament, "Arey bhai, unhi ka data hai (It is their data).”
It is not my data: Rahul Gandhi gives clear statement
Rahul also reacted to the notice issued by the ECI and said, "It is not my data that I will sign any affidavit. They (EC) can put that data on their website and get to know the details. All this is just to distract from the issue. And let me tell you, this (vote fraud) is not limited to Bengaluru (Central seat); it has happened in many other constituencies too.”
What did Rahul Gandhi say about the protest march?
Rahul Gandhi commented about the protest march of the INDIA bloc over SIR and the way it was halted. He also remarked on the EC's proposal to meet a delegation of 30 MPs over the issue and said, "Hindustan ki democracy ki haalat dekhiye (See the condition of India's democracy)! Three hundred MPs wanted to meet the Election Commission to present a document, but they were not allowed to. The EC is scared: What if 300 MPs come and their truth is revealed!"
He said that the fight is for the country's Constitution. Rahul said, "This is for the Constitution and One Man One Vote.” He once again gave the example of Karnataka and alleged that the ECI won't be able to 'hide' against a united Opposition.
