Villagers have stated that the missing four-month-old infant, Subhash, is the son of Santosh and Kiran of Mallahanpurwa village. The wolf entered the house at around 1:30 a.m. on Monday and dragged away the infant who was sleeping beside his mother. The forest officials have reportedly killed four wolves so far and have intensified continuous patrolling and surveillance. They have neutralised a man-eating wolf which had attacked more than 25 people.

On September 27, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted an aerial survey of the affected region and ordered the capture or neutralisation of the wolves. The forest officials have deployed rescue specialists and shooters from other districts and states.
