New Delhi: The Pakistan government has supported Army Chief General Asim Munir's claim that Indian is like a Mercedes and their country is like a dump truck.

Munir, during his recent visit to the United States, compared India to a "shining Mercedes" and his own country to a "dump truck". Now, the country's interior minister, Mohsin Naqvi, has hailed Munir's leadership during the India-Pakistan military conflict and said the latter used the analogy to present the prowess of the neighbouring country to a Saudi delegation. Notably, the representative from Saudi Arabia visited Pakistan in May this year.

What did Naqvi say?

During a seminar in Lahore, Naqvi said, "The Field Marshal told them, 'India is like a shining Mercedes, but we are like a dumper truck loaded with stones. Imagine the result if they collide.' The delegation remained silent." He also claimed that no Indian missile landed on targets at any of Pakistan's major military bases.

What was Asim Muir's Mercedes comment?

Munir, while speaking at a private dinner in Florida last week, said, "I am going to use a crude analogy to explain the situation... India is a shining Mercedes coming on a highway like a Ferrari, but we are a dump truck full of gravel. If the truck hits the car, who will be the loser?"

Notably, during Operation Sindoor, India hit several Pakistani air bases. During a press briefing, Air Marshal AK Bharti, Director General of Air Operations, said India hit targeted military bases in Pakistan and its response was "measured and calibrated."
