In an age where most people rely on digital tools, one artist has taken a truly unique route to creativity. Anil K, a school teacher from Kerala, India, paints portraits using nothing but his tongue.
Yes, you read that right.
Anil uses his tongue as a brush, dipping it in paint and then applying it directly to canvas. His incredible talent has gained widespread attention online, with several viral videos of his tongue-painting technique on YouTube and social media.
Anil has created over 1,000 artworks using this method. One of his most notable pieces is an eight-foot portrait of Jesus Christ, inspired by Leonardo da Vinci. The work, done entirely by tongue, has stunned viewers across platforms.
But why choose such a method?
“I wanted to be a different kind of artist,” Anil told various media outlets. He believes that pushing creative boundaries helps him stand out in a world dominated by screens and styluses.
However, painting with his tongue isn’t without side effects. Anil has reported experiencing jaw pain, headaches, memory loss and even blurred vision after long sessions. These symptoms sometimes last for up to two weeks.
When not painting with his tongue, Anil continues to experiment with his body. He has painted using his nose, chin, elbows and feet.
Though his work is undeniably fascinating, experts caution against trying such methods, as the materials involved may be harmful if ingested.
