KOLKATA: Nasir Khan, a predator previously convicted in the notorious 2012 Park Street gang-rape case, has been named as one of two accused in a fresh incident of alleged sexual harassment and violent assault at a five-star hotel in Kolkata. The woman involved claims she and her companions were attacked with glass bottles and subjected to inappropriate touching at the Play Boy club within the Hyatt Regency hotel.

The incident reportedly occurred around 4:15 AM on Sunday. According to the woman's complaint, the trouble began when Nasir Khan and his nephew, Junaid Khan, arrived at the club where she was socialising with her husband and friends. An altercation ensued, the cause of which remains unclear, but the woman alleges that both Nasir and Junaid, along with their associates, attempted to assault her and touch her inappropriately.

"When my brother tried to protect (me), they started throwing glass bottles at us. We tried to run away from the hotel to safety, but Junaid Khan called around 20 boys and started attacking us," the woman stated in her complaint, NDTV reported.

She further detailed her attempt to call for help, stating, "I called 100, dialled the number to get instant help, but they blocked all the doors. A few boys started pushing me and touching me in a very bad way in my private area." The victim has reportedly provided a medical report and stated that CCTV footage of the incident is available at the hotel.

The complaint also includes allegations of death threats made by the accused via phone. No arrests have been made in connection with this incident so far, the report said.

A case has been registered at the Bidhannagar South Police Station against Nasir Khan and Junaid Khan. They face charges under the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, including voluntarily causing hurt, criminal force, assault, and solitary confinement.

Nasir Khan was one of five men convicted for the gang rape of a woman in a moving car in the Park Street area in 2013. The victim in that case had been abducted in February 2012 and subjected to the assault before being abandoned. Nasir Khan was released from prison in 2020, having served over a year before the completion of his 10-year sentence, citing "good behaviour."
