Bhopal: A disturbing accusation from Madhya Pradesh has triggered alarm after a young student was allegedly abducted from a bus by plain-clothes police officers and framed in a fabricated narcotics case. The incident, captured in a widely shared video, shows officers pulling the teenager off a passenger bus before taking him away. The complaint has been filed against personnel from Malhargarh police station.

According to evidence presented before the Madhya Pradesh High Court, the student was forcibly removed from the bus and later implicated in what the family describes as a fictitious drug trafficking case. The material submitted to the court includes video footage, CCTV clips, statements from eyewitnesses and other supporting documents.

18-year-old arrested with 2.7 kilogram opium?

The student, identified as 18-year-old Sohan, a Class 12 pupil from Malhargarh, was reportedly taken away on August 29. Hours later, police announced that he had been arrested with 2.7 kilograms of opium. He was produced before a court the next day and remanded to judicial custody pending further proceedings.

However, the evidence collected by the family paints a contradictory picture. CCTV video, mobile recordings and accounts from people present at the scene suggest that there was no sign of drugs, no chase and no recovery of illicit substances. Instead, the material appears to show officers intercepting the bus, removing the teenager and taking him away without explanation.

Cops accused of abduction and wrongful arrest

The student’s family has accused the officers of abduction, wrongful arrest and fabricating evidence. On December 5, they filed a formal petition before the Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court seeking intervention and an independent inquiry. The petition alleges that the police staged the entire operation to falsely implicate the teenager in a serious narcotics case.

The family has demanded that the officers involved be suspended immediately and that a neutral investigative team be appointed to review the circumstances of the arrest. They have also asked the court to order the student’s release and to take action against what they describe as gross misuse of police authority.
