New Delhi: In a shocking case reported from Jatakheda village of Sehore district in Madhya Pradesh, school students who had not completed their homework, were forced to stand naked in the cold, by the teachers. The incident was reported from St. Angel School. Parents of the children had for long been complaining about the functioning of the school.
The parents of the children studying in the school have complained that this is not the first time that such a punishment had been meted out to the children on not completing their homework. This was a regular affair, they claimed.
Not only that, the students of the school were also made to clean the playground, sweep the floors and water the plants in the garden, they said.
After the allegations from the parents came to light, several Bajrang Dal activists, along with members of some social organisations reached the school premises, and held a massive protest. The villagers also joined them.
Heavy police force was deployed by the administration at the school. The district education officer, who also got to know about the commotion, reached the school and spoke to the children, including those who were punished. He immediately ordered the dismissal of the principal of the school. He also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on the school administration, which has to be paid by the school management. The orders were issued under the School Recognition Act.
An investigation has been ordered in the case, and the Education Officer has promised strict action once the report is submitted. The angry parents of the children calmed down a bit following the assurance from the senior officer.
