Major terror plot busted in Gujarat; doctor planning deadly ricin attack held with 2 others

Ahmedabad: In a major success, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has busted a major terror plot and taken three terrorists in custody. These terrorists had conducted reconnaissance in big cities like Ahmedabad, Lucknow, and Delhi to prepare for the attack, the police said.

The investigations by the police further revealed that terrorists had prepared a map of crowded areas in Ahmedabad. Apart from this they also conducted reconnaissance of the Rashtriya Swamsevak Sangh (RSS) office in Lucknow as well as Delhi’s Azadpur Mandi area.

The police also found that terrorists were preparing to carry out a deadly attacks using ricin poison, a substance that is internationally classified as the most lethal chemical weapon. his poison was prepared in powder form and was to be used by mixing it in food.`

Terrorists in touch with Pakistani handler

As per the police, the terrorists were in touch with some people in Pakistan and were planning to kill thousands in India. he terrorists had started planning their operations after getting information about the weather, urban layout, and traffic. The police is also looking to trace and nab the entire network of terrorists.

he other two terrorists have been identified as Azad and Sohail. Syed holds an MBBS degree after studying in China from 2008 to 2013. He is believed to have a radical ideology. It is believed that the three terrorists were in touch with Abu Khadija, the Pakistani handler of Islamic State – Khorasan Province (ISKP).

The three terrorists reached Gujarat on November 6 with the intention of exchanging arms. They also hatched a plot to attack several places in the country. During the interrogation, it was revealed that Syed obtained various items from Azad and Sohil. Syed was in the process of making the poison.
