New Delhi: A manager took to social media to comment on Gen Zs and their attitudes at work. While the individual applauded the generation for their tech-saviness and open-mindedness, the manager stated that hiring them has been a challenge. The post divided the internet.

In the Reddit post, the manager described a variety of challenges. They stated that Gen Z interview candidates arrived late, demanded flexible working hours and remote jobs.  "They act like a job is a short-term collab, not a real commitment. I respect boundaries, but basic professionalism still matters," said the manager in the post. Further, they added, "Gen Z wants flexibility, purpose, and $100K all on day one."

One wrote, "They're probably just more vocal about it. I wanted that too as a Millennial. Reality hit pretty fast and showed that it wasn't going to happen.” A second person stated, "And Gen X & Boomers want us to buy their houses worth 75k for 425k with a 60k salary and 16k daycare bill… so we’re all a little delusional, I suppose.”

Meanwhile, a set of people thought the different generations should come together and work out a more flexible approach that appeals to both.

A report by an online CV platform named CVGenius claimed that Gen Zs are "career catfishing". The term refers to when Gen Zs accept job offers but refuse to turn up for work or give notice.
