New Delhi: The entire country was shocked by the brutal murder of Saurabh Rajput, an ex-merchant navy officer, allegedly by his wife Muskan Rastogi and her lover Sahil. The controversy was amplified by the fact that the alleged perpetrators hid his dismembered body in a blue drum.
Now, Muskan, who is jailed in Meerut for the alleged crime, has reportedly given birth to a baby girl on Monday evening. A report by News18 states that she delivered at the Lala Lajpat Rai Memorial Medical College, where she was admitted late Sunday night after her labour pains increased.
According to the doctors, it was a normal delivery, and the newborn weighed 2.4 kg. While Muskan’s family has been informed of the news, no relatives have visited her so far at the hospital. Since the case is highly controversial, police have tightened security both at the hospital entrance and inside the wards. Muskan is being observed throughout the day for health updates.
Saurabh Rajput was a 35-year-old former merchant navy officer who married Muskan in 2016 despite familial opposition. They lived in a rented place, and Rajput went to London after some time. He returned to India on February 24 to celebrate his wife's birthday the next day. However, Muskan and her alleged lover, Sahil Shukla, are accused of drugging and stabbing Rajput to death on March 4 at their home in Meerut. They allegedly dismembered the body and hid it in a blue drum filled with cement and fled to Himachal Pradesh. The duo was arrested on March 18.
