The meeting comes amid heightened security across the national capital, as investigative agencies continue to trace leads and identify those involved in the explosion near the historic Red Fort earlier this week.

PM Modi visits Red Fort blast victims in LNJP Hospital

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday visited the victims of the recent Red Fort blast at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital, soon after returning from Bhutan. During his visit, the Prime Minister met those injured in the explosion, enquired about their well-being, and wished them a speedy recovery. He was also briefed by doctors and senior officials on the patients’ condition and the progress of the ongoing investigation, ANI reported.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah had earlier visited the hospital on Monday to meet the survivors and review the situation.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police and central agencies are intensifying their probe into the November 10 explosion near the Red Fort, which officials now suspect might have been part of a larger terror plot initially aimed at the upcoming Republic Day celebrations on January 26.

Investigators trace suspect’s repeated visits near Red Fort

A senior police officer as per a PTI report that data retrieved from Dr Ganaie’s mobile phone placed him repeatedly in and around the Red Fort during the first week of January. Investigators believe these visits were part of a detailed surveillance exercise intended to assess security arrangements, patrol patterns and crowd movement along the Republic Day parade route.

The route, stretching from Rashtrapati Bhavan to the Red Fort, is among Delhi’s most heavily guarded areas, hosting several VVIPs during the annual celebrations. Officials suspect that the plot may have been shelved due to the heightened security presence on Republic Day.

Further analysis has also linked Dr Ganaie and his associate, Dr Umar Nabi, to multiple trips near the Red Fort earlier this year. Their movements were corroborated through mobile tower records and CCTV footage from nearby areas, strengthening the suspicion that the duo was conducting reconnaissance of the historic monument and its surroundings.
