PM Modi Shares Untold Stories Of VP CP Radhakrishnan In Rajya Sabha
PM Narendra Modi, speaking in the Rajya Sabha, shared personal and emotional anecdotes from the life of Vice President CP Radhakrishnan from surviving childhood incidents to giving up non-vegetarian food after visiting Kashi.
The Lok Sabhas Winter Session began stormily, quickly leading to adjournment as opposition parties engaged in protests and slogan-raising. Members of Parliament demanded discussions on crucial issues including the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists, national security in the wake of a blast near the Red Fort, and rising air pollution levels.
Despite warnings from Lok Sabha Speaker Mr. Om Birla, who stated that these agendas were not slated for the Question Hour, opposition members continued their demonstrations.
This persistent unrest ultimately forced the adjournment of the house. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation, emphasising that Parliament is a forum for "delivery and policy," not "sloganeering or shouting," and urged constructive debate.
However, the opposition remains united and adamant that a discussion on the SIR, which they believe benefits the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, is paramount before allowing the house to function smoothly.
