A startling error has left an engineering student at Gavisiddheshwara Department of Arts, Commerce and Science in Koppal utterly bewildered, after his official mark sheet arrived bearing the photograph of a 'Swamiji' instead of his own.

Devaraj Moolimani, the student, was reportedly "stunned" upon reviewing the document issued under the jurisdiction of Vijayanagar Sri Krishnadevaraya University.

The bizarre incident unfolded after Moolimani applied for his mark sheet online through the Integrated University and College Management System (UUCMS). A few days later, the printed mark sheet, meant to certify his academic achievements, displayed an unexpected spiritual leader in the space reserved for his passport-sized photograph.

Addressing the peculiar mix-up, NM Sali, the Evaluation Registrar for Vijayanagar Sri Krishnadevaraya University, explained the process and laid blame on the online submission system. "The student's information was entered online by the student at UUCMS. We will not verify it. We get the mark cards from the overall university and college management system. After that, we will print it out and give it to them," Sali stated.

The Registrar further elaborated that if a mistake occurs, it is the student's responsibility to correct their information within the UUCMS portal. This isn't an isolated incident, according to Sali, who acknowledged a broader pattern of incorrect images: "It's not just this student's problem; some people have posted selfies and some have posted Google photos. We will know the information posted online only after the marks card is received." This admission highlights a significant flaw in the current system, where critical identification details are apparently not cross-verified by the university before final printing.

To rectify the glaring errors, Sali confirmed that the university will now initiate a fresh collection of applications from all affected students. These corrected applications will then be resubmitted to the UUCMS, after which new and accurate mark cards will be issued.

While the university is taking steps to correct the erroneous documents, the question of ultimate responsibility for the initial oversight remains unanswered. It is yet to be definitively ascertained whether the fault lies with the student's initial online submission, a technical glitch within the UUCMS, or a lack of robust oversight and verification protocols at the university level. For Devaraj Moolimani, however, the immediate focus is on obtaining a mark sheet that accurately reflects his identity, free from any unintended spiritual endorsements.
