Chennai: The cold wave conditions affecting central India have now extended to Tamil Nadu, with the Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai forecasting significantly cooler temperatures over the next several days. According to an official advisory, the minimum temperature across the state, Puducherry, and Karaikal is expected to be 2 to 4 degrees Celsius below normal in several areas from today until December 25th.

A lower-level atmospheric circulation over the southwestern Bay of Bengal is influencing the weather pattern. As a result, dry conditions are predicted to prevail over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal from today, December 22nd, through the 24th. Residents can expect light fog in isolated areas during the early morning hours.
