Hyderabad: In an unexpected turn of events, BRS MLC K Kavitha hit out at MLA and former irrigation minister T Harish Rao over corruption in Kaleshwaram project on Monday, September 1.
At a press conference in Hyderabad, Kavitha said that Harish Rao and Santosh Kumar played a key role in corruption. “They resorted to corruption for their own selfish interests. That's why Harish was removed as Irrigation Minister in the second term. KCR has been stained with allegations of corruption because of Harish Rao and Santosh.”
She further stated that both of them conspired against her many times but she did not speak out. “Today, as a child of KCR, I am very sad. Revanth Reddy is behind Harish Rao and Santosh. A compromise agreement has been reached between them. Revanth Reddy does not say anything to Harish Rao and Santosh. He will shoot arrows at my father.
If Congress has the courage, take action against Harish Rao and Santosh. KCR will come out clean,” she added.
"If I speak, the party may suffer losses in the local body elections. Even if there is a loss, I will speak. Hundreds of crores were found with two irrigation officials. We need to find out who is behind them. There is no question of compromising. Those who are with KCR are the reason for the party's defeat," Kavitha said.
The remarks come amid a widening rift between Kavitha, KTR and their cousin Harish Rao in recent times. She has reportedly sought a clearly defined path for her in the party and stood her ground to be taken more seriously within the party.
