IMD issues cold wave alert for six districts in Telangana

Minimum temperatures are likely to be below normal by 3°C to 4°C at some places in Telangana over the next two days.

Hyderabad: Temperatures remained low in several districts of Telangana over the last 24 hours with Asifabad, Adilabad recording 6.9°C and 7.4°C respectively. Kohir in Sanagreddy recorded 8.8°C and Moinabad in Rangareddy recorded 9.2°C, as per Telangana Development Planning Society data.

In Hyderabad, University of Hyderabad recorded 10.1°C while Sivarampalle recorded 11°C. Temperatures remained relatively low in Moulali, Rajendranagar, Quthubullapur, Gachibowli and Alwal.

As per the India Meteorological Department, minimum temperatures are likely to be below normal by 3°C to 4°C at some places in Telangana over the next two days.

Cold wave conditions will likely prevail in Adilabad, Komarambheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy districts.

The cold wave is expected to subside in the first week of January and a moderate cold wave is expected to return by Jan 8 in some districts including in Hyderabad, as per weather blogger T Balaji.
