Hyderabad: Telangana cold wave has persisted over the weekend with Komarambheem Asifabad recording 6.1°C over the last 24 hours.
Sangareddy recorded 6.3°C followed by Adilabad, which recorded 7.5°C, Rangareddy recorded 8.2°C while Medak recorded 8.4°C and Vikarabad recorded 8.5°C, Nirmal 9.0°C, Kamareddy 9.6°C, Sircilla 9.7°C, Siddipet 9.8°C.
The India Meteorological Department in Hyderabad has said that minimum temperatures are likely to be below normal by 3°C to 4°C over the next two days.
In Hyderabad, UoH in Serilingampally recorded 9.3°C followed by Moulali at 9.8°C, Rajendranagar temperatures stood at 10.7°C while Quthubullapur recorded 10.8°C. Maredpally, Alwal, Gajularamaram, Gachibowli, Bollaram recorded 11°C.
Cold wave to come to an end by January 1:
The prolonged cold wave will, however, come to an end by December 31, weather analysts said. New Year Day 2026 will likely witness normal temperatures.
The Air Quality Index (AQI) will remain poor across Telangana due to dry air, no winds and hazy skies, morning fog and drop in day temperatures, weather blogger T Balaji said.
