The police registered a case against auto driver Kashinath and Principal Sunitha after the girl’s family filed a police complaint. The family members have accused the school of negligence in the matter and staged a protest in front of the school.
When did the incident take place?
The 13-year-old student of Telangana Social Welfare Residential School in Banswada, Kamareddy district, died on Sunday night after falling from a moving auto-rickshaw, which was captured on CCTV cameras.
The girl was a resident of Kodicherla village in Madannur mandal and the incident occurred at around 7.40 pm on Sunday night.
Officials said that an auto-rickshaw had arrived on campus with plastic chairs for the Republic Day program on Monday, and students helped unload the chairs. After unloading the chairs, four girls reportedly boarded the auto-rickshaw to travel a short distance to the school gate.
