Temperatures to drop in Telangana; cold wave likely in several districts

Hyderabad: Temperatures will drop in Telangana over the next few days, as cold wave conditions will prevail in several districts, weather blogger T Balaji said.

Adilabad, Asifabad and other districts in North Telangana will likely see a cold wave, which will begin on December 5.

In Hyderabad, cold wave conditions will likely begin on Saturday, December 6. Fog, misty conditions will prevail in the morning and night hours. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be between 29°C and 18°C respectively. Surface winds are likely to be easterlies with wind speed of around 4-6 kmph.

Minimum temperatures are likely to be below normal by 2°C to 3°C in the next 2 to 3 days.

The severe low pressure area centered near the coasts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the Bay of Bengal has weakened further, and due to the impact, light to moderate rains are likely in some parts of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday and Sunday. 

The Disaster Management Agency has said that light to moderate rains accompanied by thunderstorm is likely in some places in Prakasam, Sri Sathya Sai, Kadapa, Chittoor, and Tirupati districts, and light rains are likely in some places in the remaining districts.

The cyclone ravaged Sri Lanka, killing over 480 people, causing severe floods, landslides, waterlogging and infrastructure damage and about 350 people are missing. A duo of cyclones Senyar and Ditwah - wreaked havoc across Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam and parts of Philippines.
