New Delhi: A video purportedly showing a man identifying himself as a Bajrang Dal worker threatening police personnel inside a police station in Uttar Pradesh's Rampur district has gone viral on social media.

The incident occurred at Kamri police station, where the man, identified as Suraj Patel, is seen allegedly using abusive language towards police personnel and threatening to set the police station on fire. In the video, Patel is heard saying, "Touch me and I will set the entire police station on fire."

Patel apologises in separate video

Kamri police station in-charge Himanshu Singh said he was not present at the police station when the incident took place. He added that police personnel attempted to explain the rules to the individual, but he lost his temper and used inappropriate language. The matter was subsequently reported to senior officers after the video surfaced.

Following the clip went viral, Patel released a separate video publicly apologising for his conduct. In the apology video, he said he had acted in anger and had no intention of harming the police or disrupting law and order. He also expressed regret and said he would not repeat such behaviour.
