ULFA Swadhin launches massive attack at Army Camp
The incident took place after midnight 12. Suspected ULFA (I) militants came in a truck and launched an attack with 3/4 RPG Rocket Propelled Grenade shells targeting the army camp and indiscriminating fire towards the camp. It is learnt that around 3-4 army personnel including jawans were injured severely but officially neither Indian Army nor Assam Police confirmed.

New Delhi: Banned militant outfit ULFA (Swadhin) launched a dreaded attack at an Indian Army camp at Kakopathar Army camp last night.
The incident took place after midnight 12. Suspected ULFA (I) militants came in a truck and launched an attack with 3/4 RPG Rocket Propelled Grenade shells targeting the army camp and indiscriminating fire towards the camp. It is learnt that around 3-4 army personnel including jawans were injured severely but officially neither Indian Army nor Assam Police confirmed.
After the attack for about half an hour the ULFA (I) team escaped towards neighbouring Arunachal Pradesh in the support of darkness.
After the incidents Tinsukia Police under the leadership of Sr SP of the district Abhijit Dilip launched a massive search operation. The truck used by the ULFA (I) cadres was found abandoned at Tengapani in Arunachal Pradesh.
This is the first big retaliation of the banned outfit after July 13 this year where in an well planned drone attack at ULFA (I) Myanmar camps by Indian Army where top ULFA leaders like Nayan Medhi, Brigadier Ganesh Asom, "Colonel” Pradip Asom and few others lost their lives in the drone attacks in Myanmar Camps.
