My life has changed: US woman explains new transformations after moving to India

Kristen Fischer moved to India four years ago from the US. From learning Hindi to becoming a vegetarian, the woman listed the changes she underwent after the move.

New Delhi: A woman who moved from the US to India shared a long list of changes that happened to her and hr life after shifting to India. Her reflections on her life in India resonated with many online. Desis, particularly, were glad to see her integrate into the Indian way of living. 

Kristen Fischer relocated to India about four years ago. In the video shared on social media, the woman stated that her life has undergone drastic changes, from becoming a vegetarian to using public transport, following the relocation.  She said, "My life has changed a lot since coming to India 4 years ago." She added that she has learned to cook a variety of Indian dishes and has mastered the art of draping a saree. "I became a vegetarian, and it is surprisingly easy here. India offers so much variety to vegetarian food that I don’t even think twice about it anymore," said the US citizen.

Additionally, Fischer made efforts to learn Hindi. "It was hard, and I’m still learning, but it is an essential part of living here,” said the woman. Speaking of her life in India, the woman claimed that she loves the ability to bargain at the local market and enjoys riding her scooter. She told netizens that private education for her kids was more affordable in India compared to the US. 

Fischer said she has embraced the jetspray and stated that she was never going back to tissue. 

"I still have a lot to learn,” admitted Fischer. The US woman's video was received well online. Many applauded the woman's initiatives to adapt to all things Indian. One person wrote, "While others pursue financial gains through migration, your choice to live a peaceful life in India raises an intriguing question: who is truly thriving? It's inspiring to think that you've cultivated a simple, fulfilling life, while they're still discovering their path." Some stated that she motivated them.
