Dehradun: Uttarakhand is experiencing a deepening cold spell. Though the skies over most districts remain dry, the effects of recent snowfall in the higher mountains are now being felt even in the plains.
The region is seeing strong contrasts: heat in daytime under bright sun, sharp cold during early morning and evenings.

In the hilly districts—especially areas around Kedarnath, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, and Rudraprayag—snow has laid a white blanket over the landscape.
