Dehradun: The cold has returned to Uttarakhand after fresh snowfall in the higher Himalayan regions and rain in the plains. The Meteorological Department has forecast dry weather for Thursday and Friday, with another change likely from Saturday as western disturbance remains active.

January had seen rising temperatures due to a prolonged lack of rain. Daytime conditions were becoming mildly warm, but the last week of January brought relief with widespread rain and snowfall. This sudden change has cooled the air and reminded residents of winter’s chill.
