New Delhi: In Jaipur’s Chomu subdivision, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate has danced with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) after they completed the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists ahead of time, and a video of the moment has become viral.
In the clip, SDM Dilip Singh Rathore can be seen dancing with government staff in a celebratory gathering at a local garden. The celebration marked Chomu's achievement of finishing the entire SIR exercise digitally.
Officers credit SDM's lively attitude
The officers present at the celebration attributed their success to the SDM’s presence and cheerful attitude, which took the pressure off them while completing the SIR process. Rathore danced to popular film songs and also shared a meal with the BLOs. He acknowledged and lauded the staff for their success.
According to an India Today report, one officer said, "SDM sahib created a lively atmosphere with songs like ‘Peeni Chhod Di’, which made the staff smile." Meanwhile, Rathore credited the success to teamwork and a positive approach. He said, "Initially, BLOs were given forms under SIR, which were then filled and updated on the digital platform. While the work was a bit challenging, as Jaipur is the state capital, it was not impossible. Therefore, I had already instructed that no one should work under pressure."
He added, "I do not believe in issuing notices or charge sheets. I trust the BLOs. Wherever a BLO faced difficulty, additional staff were assigned, and problems were resolved immediately." Rathore also said that the Chomu model's biggest success "was delivering a positive message to the team."
