What Raihan Vadra said about joining politics when he met Mamu Rahul Gandhi | WATCH
Raihan Vadra, son of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, has consistently expressed his desire to stay away from politics, choosing instead to pursue a career in art and photography while building an identity independent of the Gandhi family legacy.
New Delhi: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s son, Raihan Vadra, recently exchanged rings with his long-time girlfriend, Aviva Baig. Even as Raihan has repeatedly expressed his decision to stay away from active politics, being part of the Gandhi family legacy has inevitably shaped public perceptions of his life. In one such instance, Raihan recalled that associates of Rahul Gandhi often urged him to enter politics, much like his "beloved mamu.”
A few months ago, in an interview with TV9 Bharatvarsh, Raihan said he was never inclined towards politics, despite belonging to a family with a political legacy dating back to independent India. He stated that he was drawn to art from an early age and chose to pursue a creative path instead.
‘People insist me to join politics’
Raihan noted that during formal interactions with his uncle Rahul Gandhi, people would frequently encourage him to join politics. In the interview, he praised Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, describing it as an "enriching activity” that strengthened unity among the people.
At 25, Raihan Vadra is keen on building his career without relying on the "Gandhi” surname. He works as an installation and visual artist, with a strong interest in travel and nature photography, which he regularly shares on social media. He has held solo exhibitions such as Dark Perception and The India Story, the latter showcased in Kolkata, and has received acclaim for his work.
Rahain's inclination towards art and photography
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s son remains focused on carving out a distinct identity through his artistic pursuits. His portfolio spans wildlife, street, and commercial photography, according to his bio on APRE Art House, a contemporary art gallery based in Colaba, Mumbai. Raihan also has a sister, Miraya Vadra. A photograph of the siblings voting during the Lok Sabha elections had gone viral, drawing widespread appreciation.
Reports further state that his fiancée, Aviva Baig, is also a photographer and producer who uses her creative work to highlight social issues and promote positive change.
