'Won't spare you...': Rahul accuses Election Commission of vote theft, says has open and shut proof

Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the Election Commission of India (ECI), accusing it of orchestrating a massive "vote theft" to benefit the BJP. This follows the INDIA bloc's decision to protest the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar. Rahul claimed an independent investigation by the opposition uncovered evidence of ECI's involvement, vowing to pursue those responsible. The ECI is yet to respond to these serious allegations.

New Delhi: Even as the row over Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Bihar continues to rage, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday hit out at the Election Commission of India, alleging that the constitutional body was involved in "vote chori (vote theft)" to benefit the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha claimed that an independent probe by the Opposition has revealed this.

"We have open and shut proof that the Election Commission is involved in vote theft. I am saying this with 100% proof," Rahul said while speaking to reporters outside Parliament. "Most importantly, whoever in the Elections Commission is involved in this exercise, right from top to bottom, we will not spare you," he added.

He added that as soon as the probe report is released, the whole nation will come to know that EC is working for the BJP to steal votes.

"We had suspicions in the Madhya Pradesh elections, Lok Sabha elections, and our suspicions increased during the Maharashtra polls. We conducted our own investigation for six months and what we got is an atom bomb," Rahul said.

Issuing a stern warning to the EC, Rahul said, "You are working against India, and this is no less than treason. We will find you wherever you are, even if you are retired."

The EC is yet to respond to the allegations levelled by the Congress leader.

On Thursday, the INDIA bloc parties decided at their meeting to mount protests against the ongoing SIR, both inside and outside Parliament.

INDIA bloc Members of Parliament will stage a protest in front of Makar Dwar in Parliament on Friday, demanding a discussion in both Houses on the SIR of electoral rolls in Bihar.
