Yogi Adityanath asks officials to identify infiltrators, keep them in temporary detention centres

The Chief Minister said that detention centres will house illegal immigrants with foreign citizenship and ensure their stay there until the necessary verification process is completed.

New Delhi: Taking tough stands against infiltrators, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday asked officials to identify them in the state and take swift action against those entering the country illegally. Pointing out that law and order, national security, and social harmony are top priorities of his government, the CM added that any form of illegal activity in the state would not be tolerated, and strict action would be taken.

Action will be taken against illegal intruders

The Chief Minister directed that each district administration ensure the identification of illegal immigrants living in their areas and initiate legal action against them. He also ordered the establishment of temporary detention centers in each district to house these immigrants.

"Emphasising that law and order, national security, and social harmony remain top priorities, the CM stated that any illegal activity will not be tolerated. District administrations have been directed to identify illegal immigrants residing in their areas and take action in accordance with the law,” reads an official statement issued by the government.

The Chief Minister said that these detention centres will house illegal immigrants with foreign citizenship and ensure their stay there until the necessary verification process is completed. He added that illegal immigrants held in the detention centres will be deported to their countries of origin following due process.

What Yogi claimed in Bihar

On November 3, during the Bihar election campaign, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath claimed that if the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) returns to power, infiltrators will be expelled from the state and their property will be distributed among the poor. PM Modi and the Home Minister also raised the issue of infiltration during election campaigns. Now, the Yogi government is planning to take strict action against infiltrators.
