New Delhi: A day after the BJP government announced GST reforms, citizens heaved a sigh of relief as taxes were significantly reduced even on essentials. Amid this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed the Centre's commitment to ensuring and offering accessible healthcare to every citizen. Apart from initiatives like Ayushman Bharat and Jan Aushadhi Kendras, the Government will also be undertaking #NextGenGST reforms.

PM Modi also highlighted the transformative effects of #NextGenGST in strengthening the nutrition ecosystem and India's public healthcare sector. This way, by reducing taxes on essentials and protein-rich foods and products, the reforms are likely to improve diet accessibility for families all over the country. The measures are expected to complement flagship initiatives like POSHAN Abhiyan and Ayushman Bharat, reinforcing the Centre's commitment to providing balanced nutrition, holistic health, and a better quality of life to every citizen of India.
