Oncologist explains: Why cancer pain feels worse in winter

Cold weather causes blood vessels to shrink. This reduces blood supply to muscles and tissues, making pain stronger and healing slower. Cold temperatures can make the body stiff and increase pain and sometimes, immobility.

Some cancer patients can also experience burning sensations, tingling, and numbness in the legs, which can be worrisome and may need timely attention.
