Australia all-rounder Cameron Green has confirmed he is good to bowl in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. It came as a surprise to many when Green was listed as a pure batter in the upcoming IPL 2026 auction, hinting that he might not bowl next season. However, Green revealed the listing error was due to a 'stuff-up' by his manager.
After Green listed himself as batter in the IPL 2026 auction, reports claimed the move could have been due to his fitness concerns as a bowler. The all-rounder, who recently recovered from an injury, has not been bowled a lot in the ongoing Ashes 2025-26 against England.
Some reports also suggested that the move to list Green as a batter was done intentionally to ensure the IPL franchises can make best use of their remaining purse for the all-rounder as specialist batters will be presented first at the auction. However, the Aussie star has revealed his manager accidentally selected the wrong category.
"I don't know if my manager will like to hear this, but it was a stuff-up on his end. He didn't mean to say batter, I think he accidentally selected the wrong box, so it was pretty funny how it's all played out, but it's actually a stuff-up on his end. I'll be good to bowl," said Green.
Green is among the top contenders to become the most expensive pick at the IPL 2026 auction. The all-rounder is expected to trigger a bidding war between multiple franchises, who are looking for a quality overseas all-rounder at the auction. Many have tipped Green to become the most expensive buy at the auction.
When asked if he will be following the auction, Green said he will be watching alongside some of his Aussie teammates, who are currently part of the Ashes 2025-26. "I'm sure I will be, with a few other guys. They're always good fun to watch. It's a bit of a lottery where you might go, but also who might be in your team, so it's always been fun to watch," said the Australian all-rounder.
KKR and CSK might battle for Cameron Green
Green will be on the radar of several franchises, however, there is expected to be an intense bidding war between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the Aussie all-rounder. KKR and CSK will be heading into the auction with the two biggest purses of Rs 64.30 and Rs 43.40 crore, respectively.
Both KKR and CSK will be searching for a quality all-rounder at the auction and might battle hard for Green's services. While KKR will be looking to replace Andre Russell, who retired from the IPL ahead of the auction, CSK will be searching for a replacement for Sam Curran, who was traded to the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the auction.
With the biggest purse at their disposal, the two teams are expected to dictate terms at the IPL 2026 auction and might be involved in an intense bidding war for Green.
