Hardik Pandya took a brilliant catch to dismiss New Zealand opener Devon Conway in the third T20I at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
New Delhi: All-rounder Hardik Pandya took a sensational catch to dismiss opener Devon Conway in the third T20I between India and New Zealand at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday, January 25.
Trailing by 2-0 in the five-match series, the visitors got off to a poor start as Harshit Rana dismissed Conway (1) in the first over for the fifth time in the ongoing tour. He bowls a full delivery, and the Kiwi opener moves down the pitch to hit over the mid-off. But, he wasn't able to time it as his bat turned at the point of impact, and Pandya moved to his left and flew across to take a brilliant catch.
After taking a superb catch, Hardik then delivered with the ball and removed Rachin Ravindra for 4 runs in the next over. Bumrah, who was rested in the second T20I, struck on the very first ball and bowled Tim Seifert for 12 runs in the last over of the power play.
Chapman and Phillips helped the visitors to recover and forged a 52-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Bishnoi, who was playing his first T20I of the series, broke the partnership by dismissing Chapman for 32 runs in the 12th over.
Arshdeep, Varun rested
The Men in Blue made two changes in their playing XI as Jasprit Bumrah came in place of Arshdeep Singh, while Ravi Bishnoi replaced Varun Chakaravarthy in the team.
"We'll look to bowl first, the wicket looks good and there will be a little bit of dew later on. So, I would like to chase tonight. We've two changes - Arshdeep and Varun resting tonight. Bumrah and Ravi Bishnoi come in," captain Suryakumar said at the toss.
