New Delhi: Tilak Varma landed in his hometown, Hyderabad, following his Asia Cup 2025 final heroics. Fans came in huge numbers to welcome Tilak at the Hyderabad airport on Monday, September 29.
Tilak played one of the best innings under pressure for India in T20Is against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final, scoring an unbeaten 69 runs off 53 deliveries. He was the first member of the squad to land in India after the Men in Blue won the Continental Cup for the ninth time in history.
Fans requested autographs and photos with Tilak, but he jumped into the car immediately and came out of the sunroof to thank the crowd. The left-hand batter waved his hand towards the fans and also received bouquets from the crowd.

The young batter won the Man of the Match award in the final for his memorable inning. His match-winning knock came under pressure when he came to the crease. India were at 10/2 in the first three overs of the game.
Tilak displayed maturity and game-sense mentality in a high-pressure final against arch-rivals. In his 53-ball innings, the left-hand batter smashed three boundaries and four sixes to anchor the innings and took the match deep, and closed out the game himself.
India needed 10 runs in the final over, and Tilak was on the strike, scoring nine runs alone in the first three balls, including a six to swing the momentum in India's favor in the end.
Tilak Varma aggresively enjoyed the victory after Rinku Singh finished the match. The batter stated that Pakistani's were speaking alot since the match began and in response, Tilak gave the reply with his bat.
The left-hand batter was involved in two crucial partnerships with Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube to take the game out of Pakistan's hands. With his remarkable innings, Tilak also shut down the critics, as some fans raised questions on his selection before the Asia Cup and wanted Shreyas Iyer to get the opportunity ahead of him.
