New Delhi: India finished the Asia Cup 2025 campaign with a dramatic post-match ceremony as the Men in Blue refused to take the trophy from the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi. India celebrated the win without a trophy celebration, but spinner Varun Chakaravarthy found a way to mock Naqvi as he posted a selfie with a tea cup on his social media.

The Indian side requested Emirates Cricket Board vice-chairman Khalid Al Zarooni to present the trophy to the players, but the request was rejected, and Naqvi stood firm on his decision to present the Asia Cup 2025 title. After an hour of ego tussle between the PCB chief and the Indian team, the Men in Blue decided not to take the Continental Cup from Naqvi in the end.

Naqvi took the trophy with him after the post-match ceremony, and as a result, Chakaravarthy posted a photo of him reclining in bed with a teacup on his side on Monday, September 29. The spinner also posted a photo of the Indian team celebrating the Asia Cup triumph with an 'imaginary title' after beating Pakistan in the final.

Chakaravarthy quoted the photos as "Akkha duniya ek taraf, aur mere India ek taraf. Jai Hind." The Indian spinner is not new to his humour, as earlier in 2025, Chakaravarthy posted a photo of himself with a tea cup and the Champions Trophy 2025 title.

The spinner is not the only player who trolled Pakistan on social media. Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Shubhman Gill, and Abhishek Sharma also shared edited photos of the Asia Cup trophy with emojis.

Varun Chakaravarthy's campaign in Asia Cup 2025

Varun Chakaravarthy picked up seven wickets in six matches at an average of 20.43 in the Asia Cup 2025. The highlight of the 34-year-old spinner was his exceptional economy, as he bowled 22 overs in the tournament and gave away runs at a misrely economy rate of 6.50.

He was not at his best throughout the tournament, but was successful in putting pressure on opponents, which ultimately helped his teammates to pick up wickets from the other end.
