Virat Kohli has scored 208 runs in the opening two matches of the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Delhi. The star batter is set to play one more match for his domestic side ahead of the ODI series against New Zealand.
New Delhi: Star batter Virat Kohli continued his sensational form for Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26. The 37-year-old made two appearances for his domestic side and scored 208 runs at a brilliant strike rate.
His contributions powered Delhi to consecutive victories in the tournament. Kohli also became the fastest player to complete 16,000 runs in List A cricket. His comeback started against Andhra on December 24 at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.
Chasing a target of 299, Kohli played a stunning knock, scoring 131 runs off 101 balls with the help of 14 boundaries and three maximums. His innings helped Delhi beat Andhra by four wickets in the opening match of the tournament.
Kohli followed it up with another brilliant performance against Gujarat just two days later. He scored 77 runs off 61 deliveries, smashing his fifty in just 29 balls to set the tone for Delhi's innings.
He also made a crucial impact on the field, grabbing two important catches to help Delhi clinch a close seven-run victory against Gujarat.
When will Virat Kohli again play for Delhi in Vijay Hazare Trophy?
Despite Kohli's limited initial availability, the star batter could play one more Vijay Hazare Trophy match for Delhi before rejoining the national side for the New Zealand series. According to reports, he is likely to feature against Railways on January 6, 2026.
The Indian veteran has left the Delhi squad for now, but is expected to fly back to Bengaluru for the match against Railways. He has been in stunning form for the Men in Blue as well, notching up two centuries against South Africa in the recently concluded ODI three-match series.
Overall, the former India captain has smashed six 50+ scores across all competitions, four for India and two for Delhi in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The three-match series against New Zealand will begin on January 11 in Vadodara.
