New Delhi: Delhi Capitals defeated UP Warriorz by five wickets in the last league stage match of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2026 at the BCA Stadium on Sunday, February 1. With this win, the Capitals have qualified for the eliminators of the WPL 2026.

The Jemimah Rodrigues-led side knocked out two-time champions Mumbai Indians, who finished fourth and UP Warriorz, who finished last in the points table. Delhi ended their league stage campaign in third place with eight points in eight matches, winning four matches and losing four.

Apart from DC, Gujarat Giants (GG) finished second on the points table, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) topped the charts, having qualified for the playoffs of the WPL 2026 season.

Delhi Capitals beat UP Warriorz by five wickets

After being asked to bat first, UP Warriorz were restricted to 122/8 in 20 overs. Their batters struggled to perform, and none of them managed to cross the 30-run mark. Deepti Sharma scored 24 runs off 19 balls, including four boundaries and one six, and Simran Shaikh amassed 22 runs off 14 deliveries, with the help of three boundaries.

Shikha Pandey also made a crucial contribution for the UP Warriorz, scoring an unbeaten 23 runs off 13 balls, smashing three boundaries. Marizanne Kapp picked up three wickets, while Chinelle Henry and Shree Charani also bagged two wickets each.

Chasing the 123-run target, the DC got off to a disappointing start as Deandra Dottin dismissed Lizelle Lee for 10 runs in the second over. Opener Shafali Verma scored 29 runs off 33 balls, with the help of two boundaries.

However, Laura Wolvaardt scored 47 runs off 36 balls, smashing seven boundaries, and captain Jemimah Rodrigues also amassed 26 runs off 16 balls, helping the Delhi Capitals to chase down the target in 18.4 overs.
