Juventus sack Igor Tudor after an eight-match winless run, appointing Massimo Brambilla as interim coach to stabilise the struggling Serie A side.
New Delhi: Juventus FC fired their head coach, Igor Tudor, just seven months after his appointment, bringing an early end to a turbulent spell marked by poor results and growing pressure. The decision came a day after Juventus’ 1-0 defeat to Lazio, which extended their winless run to eight matches across all competitions.
Tudor replaced Thiago Motta back in March 2025 and was expected to stabilise the side and push for a top-four finish, but the results never clicked. His dismissal comes with Juventus sitting eighth in Serie A, already six points adrift of leaders Napoli and struggling to rediscover consistency.
In an official statement, the club said, "Juventus FC announces that it has today relieved Igor Tudor of his duties as coach of the men’s first team, along with his staff consisting of Ivan Javorcic, Tomislav Rogic and Riccardo Ragnacci.” The statement added that the club thanked Tudor and his staff for their professionalism and dedication during their tenure.
Who will replace Tudor?
Following Tudor's departure, Juventus confirmed that reserve team coach Massimo Brambilla will take over as an interim manager. He will be on the sideline for Juventus' upcoming Serie A fixture against Udinese on Wednesday. Brambilla is currently managing Juventus Next Gen and is expected to provide short-term stability while the club evaluates long-term coaching options.
Tudor’s final weeks in charge were marked by mounting frustration within the fanbase. Juvetus’ 1-0 loss to Lazio was their third consecutive defeat and the lack of attacking intent combined with defensive lapses summed up the decline in form. The Croatian’s record with the club reads just six wins in 20 matches, with the team also underperforming in Europe, having failed to register a single victory in their Champions League group so far.
Tudor's short stint
Tudor's appointment in March came with cautious optimism. The 43-year-old had previously impressed during his spells at Verona and Marseille, but at Juventus, his formula of high-energy approach and tactical flexibility never worked.
The sacking underscores Juventus' urgency to salvage their season, especially with Champions League qualification at stake. For now, the focus shifts to stopping further decline and regaining momentum under Brambilla's temporary charge.
