Why Bryan Mbeumo is perfect signing for Red Devils? Former Manchester United player explains

New Delhi: Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford on Friday, July 17. According Nytimes, the clubs struck a deal at £65m guaranteed and up to £6m add-ons.

The Cameroonian forward scored 20 goals in the Premier League last season and was a key target for Ruben Amorim. United made the first offer for Mbeumo six weeks ago and had two bids rejected.

The player made it clear to Brentford that he wanted to move to Old Trafford despite interest from Tottenham Hotspur from his former head coach, Thomas Frank, and personal terms are not thought to be an issue.

Mbeumo will become Manchester United’s third signing of the summer transfer window after the Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha, who cost £62.5m from Wolves, and the Paraguayan full-back Diego León.

The player is expected to join the club for the pre-season tour of the United States, which starts next week. He will get the time to understand Amorim's style and demands.

The Bees signed Mbuemo from Troyes for £5.8m in 2019 and spent two seasons in the Championship before winning promotion. He netted 42 goals in 136 Premier League appearances.

Speaking on FIVE UK, Ferdinand said that the signing of Mbeumo is huge news for Red Devils as they needed more firepower, more dynamism and more power in general and the forward is signed to fulfil that along with Cunha. He further added that Mbeumo brings goals, and his stats are very impressive.

"I don't drive everything on stats, the eye test has to work and match up as well, and the eye test does. But the stats are super impressive, guys, I'm telling you, 41 appearances. 20 goals, that's 1 goal every 2 games, right, and 8 assists, that's 28 goal involvements in 41 games. This guy is performing at a high level," said Ferdinand on FIVE UK.
