New Delhi: Indian esports is set for a new kind of spotlight this week. The Battlegrounds Mobile India Masters Series (BGMS) Season 4 Grand Finals are bringing together the top 16 teams in the country, but the action will not be limited to the stage. Tesla has teamed up with NODWIN Gaming to showcase its Model Y at the event, making this the first time the American automaker has collaborated with an Indian esports tournament.
The finals, scheduled from September 12 to 14, will take place on LAN and be broadcast live on Star Sports Khel and JioHotstar during prime time between 5 PM and 8 PM IST. For Tesla, which recently opened its first experience centers in Mumbai and Delhi, the move places its cars in front of one of the youngest and fastest-growing audiences in the country.
The partnership signals how esports has matured into a mainstream platform for global brands. NODWIN Gaming described the tie-up as another step in how esports in India connects culture, technology, and community. The finals will even begin with Tesla’s Light Show, a feature that has become a social media favorite at global events.
Akshat Rathee, co-founder and managing director of NODWIN Gaming, said that every season of BGMS is about pushing boundaries and Tesla’s presence reflects how far esports in India has come. He noted that esports is no longer a niche but a cultural platform where global companies now want to engage.
For esports fans, the finals promise high drama as squads battle for supremacy. For Tesla, the event serves as a unique entry point into Indian pop culture, especially among Gen Z and millennial audiences.
According to the FICCI-EY Media and Entertainment Industry Report 2025, the number of brands investing in esports in India is set to grow from 68 in 2024 to 75 in 2025. BGMS already has names like OnePlus, Android, TVS Motor, Red Bull, Swiggy, Bisleri, and Duolingo English Test on board this season. Tesla’s presence adds an extra layer of global attention to the tournament.
